Matthew 28:8. (NLT). The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the Disciples the angel’s message.
Have you ever been filled with so much and joy frightened at the same time? On a roller coaster? At a movie? Watching someone die?
When my father was dying it was a very sad time but it was also a very joyous time. I was frightened with living without my dad, knowing I would not be able to see him whenever I wanted. I knew I would not be able to pick up the phone and hear him say “Hello” to his baby girl.
But I was also joyous. I was joyous knowing he would never have to wear oxygen again. He would have a new healthy body. He was saved and going to Heaven.
It’s funny how we can be happy and sad at the same time but its okay. God made us to have all kinds of emotions sometimes at the same time.
The women who went to the tomb were frightened when they found Jesus was not there. They were scared because his body was gone.
BUT, they had GREAT JOY knowing what He had promised was transpiring.
HE WAS ALIVE! HE WAS OUR SAVIOR! HE DIED FOR OUR SINS! HE HAD RISEN!!
I imagine there feelings were similar to mine when my father was dying. I also know whey were filled with great joy knowing Jesus was alive!!!
God was and is in control. God did and does love us! We can be sad and joyful at the same time.
Spread the Word about Jesus. Spread the Great Joy!!!
