Psalm 139:14 (NIV). I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
When you were younger did you wish your hair was curly because it was straight?
Did you wish you were taller?
Did you wish your hair wasn’t red?
Did you not like the way you talked because you were too country?
Do you still think now that your older you were not so fat, smarter, richer, etc?
Why is it we are always thinking we are not good enough???
You know, I don’t think God is very happy with us when we have these thoughts. He made us “fearfully and wonderfully.” He made each of us different.
He knew each of us before we were formed in the womb. He knew when we were in the womb whether we would be tall or short or blue eyed or brown eyed. He wanted you to be you not Jane Doe.
How boring would the world be if we all looked the same? Think about those crazy movies when all the aliens look the same. Doesn’t that look boring?
I know I complain about the way I look, but I need to be joyful remembering the verse in Psalm. I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful is such a sweet and happy word. We should just be joyful with what God gave us and use it for His Kingdom. He made you this way for a reason, so enjoy! We may not know why, but He does. So be joyful with what you have.
I know when your younger and sometimes when your older it’s hard when you look different than your friends, but your not different.
You are wonderfully made.
So when you think you may be different, just say I’m wonderful the way I am.
And be joyful when you do.
