6 And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. 7 She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.
Today, I took a break from this week’s joy subject. Can you believe that in 2 months from today it will be CHRISTMAS!!!
I love Christmas time. I love listening to Christmas music. I love the feeling in the air of the birth of our Messiah, JESUS.
Let’s take a moment to listen to one of my favorite songs before I go on.
What is your favorite part of Christmas? Is it the decorating, the cooking, the music, the fellowship? Do you dread Christmas because of all that has to be done? Do we really have to do all that stuff?
Christmas has become so commercialized and I’ll admit I’ve been guilty of not being very joyful during the Holiday season.
BUT, I have made a decision this year! I want you to help hold me accountable. I’m going to ENJOY Christmas this year for what it is, THE BIRTH OF MY JESUS. I’m going to give presents that show what Christ means to me. I want others to know I love Jesus.
I want to spend quality time with family and ENJOY, not just hurry. I want to not worry about decorating my house as much but decorate others lives with Jesus. I want to cook sweets not just for my family to enjoy, but to spread sweet JOY to others.
I want to spread the JOY of Christmas this year. I want this Christmas to be a Christmas to remember. I want my family to look back and remember the CHRISTMAS OF 2014 as the best one ever! I want it to be full of JOY!!
Here is another song to enjoy about Christmas!
Do you want to join me on this? I know it’s going to be hard, but I know God will give me the strength to do this. Let’s spread the JOY and make this Christmas different from the others.
So if you see me in town and I don’t look JOYFUL you have my permission to stop and remind me about the true meaning of Christmas.
