Philippians 2:3-4 (NIV)
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (Philippians 2:3-4 NIV)
Today day is my first post for my Mapping Monday. Will you join me in memorizing this verse this week?
My goal is by next year this time to have 52 new scriptures memorized. I’m so excited. What about you joining me on this journey? We can keep each other motivated and accountable.
Verse mapping is where you rewrite the scripture and add ways to remember. You can take an index card and do this. Place the veered everywhere you can see it so you can begin memorizing it.
As you will see I love using different colors. Plus it gives me sections to remember.
These verses help explain to us how we are to act and how we are to treat others. Humility is hard for us to do sometimes. We are not to act arrogant or if we are better than others.
We were all made by the same person, GOD, so guess what, we are all equal. Some people believe they we better than others, but in Gods eyes, the only eyes that matter, we are all equal. We have to remember to not act better than others but also not to look on people differently because they may be lower than us. We need to look at others they way we want to be viewed.
The last part of this can be hard at times. We are to look at others interests before looking at your own. My husband is an avid hunter. He loves it. It is one of his interests. I began hunting with him several years ago for many reasons. I did enjoy the hunting because it was relaxing, but also because it was something that interested my husband so I needed to think of,his interests before mine. If I do this, he will see my care and love through the eyes of God.
Good luck on your verse. You will do great. Put it everywhere you can see it. Here is a beautiful picture that you could hang somewhere as well.
