Another Day Older

Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

As each day goes by, we turn a day older.  On our birthday, we celebrate turning another year older.  Some birthday’s are special – 10, 13, 16, 18, 21, 30, 40, etc.  When are children are smaller, we throw extravagent birthday parties for them.

Today I went with my mother and one of her other sisters to celebrate their oldest sisters 94th birthday.  She does not stay at home anymore, but stays at a assisted living home.  She is so happy most days.

As we were going about the party, everyone was laughing and having fun.  We all ate cake and ice ceam and then she opened her presents.  When it was all done, we carried her back to her room and we all left.

When I got home, I started thinking about 94 years.  She was born in 1921.  Can you imagine all that she has seen and how things have changed?

One of her sisters brought an Ipad to Face Time her son in Indiana so my Aunt could see the twins that were born in December.  She looked at it first like she was confused.  I’m sure she was just wondering what in the world.  She came from a time that there was no phones to talking to people on an Ipad and being able to see them.

I can only imagine how things will be when I am 94 years old -part of it scares me.

BUT, I also know there is one thing that hasn’t changed in her 94 years.

GOD!

Everything around us may change but He never will.  We should really try to learn and read His Word because of all things this will never change.  We may be able to read on our phone or computer, but the words we are living are the same now as they were in 1921 and 1821 and 100.

Have you read His Word today?  It will never change.

Have you talked to Him today?  He will never change.

You may change BUT HE WILL NOT!!!!
