Five Minute Friday – Plan

My Plans

How many of you are a list person, a planner?

I will honest, I’m a crazy planner.  My husband hates it when we go on vacation because I think we must plan the whole thing.  He likes to just go with the flow.  I am learning that on vacation that can be fun, but in my daily life, I LOVE TO PLAN!

I love to know what I’m doing today, tomorrow, next week – but when I’m planning do I ask the Lord if this what He wants me to do.

Oops!

I know I usually just plan my dinner, plan my day, plan everything, but I know I need to give these plans to The Lord.  He will decide if they ware what He has planned for me.

God knew me before I was formed in my mother’s womb so don’t you think He knows what He has planned for me.  I love Jeremiah 29:11.  It is probably one of my favorite verses.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV).  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Do we agree with everything that happens to us?

Well, we need to because it may be God’s plan for us.  You know it’s good to make plans, but we need to also make sure when we make these plans to pray about them.  Let God show us what we may need to change or add.  Don’t be upset when someone interrupts are plans.  God may have sent them because they needed this or we did.  Either way, remember there is one in control more than we are.

Proverbs 19:21 (NIV).  Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

In conclusion, it’s okay to plan.  When we plan, however, we need to remember to pray about it and give the plans to God.  If he decides our plans are not His plans, He will handle it.  We need to just be willing to do what God has planned because He is the all knowing.

Proverbs 16:3 (NIV).  Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

God knows what is best for us!!!!

  1. I sometimes think that learning to trust God is one of the reasons I’m here on earth. The trials have shown me that His greatest provision and truth come through ways that I would never want in my own plans, but they always work out for good.

I admire your planning ability! I’m somewhat of a planner but I’d much rather go with the flow inside of a rough outline of plans!

I love the Scriptures verses you put in your story – thanks!
