It’s been a while since I linked up with Five Minute Friday, but I think today is the day. So I’m linking up with Kate Motaung on her site today to write for five minutes and see what happens. Even if you don’t write, visit her site and read other’s words for the Weary.
Let me just say, that starting back with the Five Minute Friday and writing about “WEARY” is perfect. That’s where I have been for a few weeks.
And why? Why have I been WEARY?
Not really sure. I have a great husband and awesome son and I’m a Stay-At-Home-Mom because of a health condition.
Well maybe that’s why I’m WEARY. I have a health condition.
That’s not any reason to be WEARY is it. Well, at the time I thought so, but now when I look back, I don’t think so.
WEARY can really get us in trouble sometimes. It can make us not share His Word. It can make us a cranky person. It can make us no fun to be around. It can make us mean.
But God did not make your or me to be WEARY. God made us to in “HIS LIKENESS” and “HE WANTS TO BLESS US.”
Well I’m not sure about you, but when I’m WEARY it’s not very pretty. Instead of turning to television, games, and unhappy thoughts, I should have turned to God.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
I’m not sure about you but I know when I”m WEARY I would love rest. But I need the rest that only GOD can give me.
So he next time I feel WEARY.
I will turn to God, not the television.
I will turn to God, not the games.
I will turn to God, not unhappy thoughts.
What about you? Are you feeling WEARY?
It’s okay if you are because God told us in His Word we would. He gave us the above verse as well as told us what to do.
GO TO GOD!
HE WILL GIVE YOU THE MEDICINE, THE REST, YOU NEED FOR BEING WEARY!
Come back tomorrow as I write some more about “WEARY” – why we need to lend an EAR to the “WEARY”.
