The alarm goes off. You roll over and realize it’s Monday morning and it’s time to get up. You wonder where did the weekend go. You wonder why do I have to get up. Why can’t I stay in this warm bed and just sleep. There is no way I can put one foot in front of the other.
You hit the snooze button. You drift back off asleep.
The alarm goes off again. You roll over and realize it’s time to get up. In the dark of the room, you get up and start to the bathroom, putting one foot in front of the other.
It’s going to be a long week.
I have so much to do
You take a shower and get ready. You go to the kitchen and grab that first up of coffee, hoping it will help you put one foot in front of the other.
You go wake up the kids. They are not happy about getting up.
They ask can’t they just sleep in and skip school. You yell, “If I have to get up, you do to! Now get up!!”
They get up out of bed talking under their breath, trying to put one foot in front of the other.
Why is it there are mornings that are so hard to get going? Why is it that Mondays seem like they are the worst day of the week?
Some days are harder than others to put one foot in front of the other. God tells us in His Word, the world is tough. He tells up we will have trials and temptations. He tells up we will have joy and happiness.
Where is that happiness on Monday morning?
It is inside of you, it’s just your evil friend, the devil, is walking around trying to devour you.
Don’t let the devil get a foothold on you.
Put one foot in front of the other, knowing the One who loves you is with you! God!
I’ll be the first to admit there are days, I just want to stay in bed, pull the covers over my head and hide from the world.
But God has made us. God has given us this life to enjoy! God wants us to get up and enjoy our life.
So how do I do it. Get up and put one foot in front of the other.
Think back to Jesus. When He was carrying that heavy cross. Think about Jesus, when He was being beat. Think about Jesus, when He was hanging on the cross.
He knew what was coming that day when He woke up. He could have stayed in bed and hid His head, but instead HE GOT UP AND PUT ONE FRONT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER!
He got up for each of us. He got up and suffered for each of us.
So I know it’s hard! Jesus knew it would be hard!
But He did it! Don’t you think you can do it! You can if you will let HIM walk with you.
Let HIM help you put one foot in front of the other. Praise HIM for giving you this day!
GO OUT AND PUT ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER!
MAKE THE MOST OF EVERY DAY!
