8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
During the month of December and especially closer to December 25, you hear these words used many times a day. As a matter of fact, not too many moments ago my son said, “I guess because it is so hot outside that is why I’m not really in the Christmas Spirit.”
A few nights ago I was watching the wonderful Christmas movies that are on the Hallmark Channel, such as Snow Bride, A Very Merry Mix-Up, The Cookie Cutter Christmas, A Royal Christmas, Christmas Under Wraps, Ice Sculpture Christmas, A Christmas Detour. I could sit all day and watch these movies. Is it because of the beautiful decorations, the happiness of the season, the love story, or the theme that most of them share.
I noticed that most of the movies do have one similar theme – the Christmas Magic. People fall in love, people find their way home, and people discover the real meaning of Christmas. Most of the movies have Santa in them or a Santa’s helper who help all the Christmas Magic happen.
So my question is why does Santa get all the credit for the Christmas Magic?
Didn’t the Christmas magic really come over 2000 years ago in a manager?
Shouldn’t Jesus get the credit for the Christmas Magic not Santa?
God sent a child to a virgin which was born in a stable.
That’s the real magic of Christmas.
I pray everyone remembers who is the one really responsible for all the Christmas Magic.
Don’t forget the real MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS!!!
