Joy & Simple – Day 13 of Joy

Luke 2:10-11 (NIV). But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be to all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, he is CHRIST THE LORD.

I’m sure when an angel appeared to those shepherds in the fields that night they were afraid. The did not know what they were. But the angels assured them not to be afraid but be happy, joyful because of what I’m about to say.

Have you ever sat in a waiting room when a family is waiting for a child to be born?  There is so much excitement and of course worry. But when the father or doctor steps in the room to give the good news, the whole room lights up. People who were worried or sad are now happy.

Think about the joy people have when they look into the eyes of a newborn baby. There is so much joy and love and happiness. People sometimes do not speak, they just soak up the moment.

I’m sure when the wise men went to see JESUS they were filled with so much joy and happiness.   Just the thought of a baby makes us happy, but to think He is the Messiah. What a moment that must have been.

Think about the joy a baby brings and you should feel that same warm and fuzzy feeling about JESUS.  He came as a precious baby, grew up learning about God and then went and performed miracles and taught people about God.

I’m so joyful knowing I know JESUS as my Messiah, my baby.  Whenever you are feeling low, read the story of JESUS’s birth and a smile will come to your face.
